Home in the forest
Since 2013, Qinglong Valley has successively built infrastructures such as the Forest Experience Center, Nature Observation Trail, Base Camp, and Forest Experience Site. It has become a well-known scenic spot for citizens' forest experience and a model for developing forest culture in Beijing. In order to achieve social fairness, service facilities for the disabled are built, so that disabled people can go deep into the forest for forest healing and watching the Great Wall closely.
The most important relationship between the building and the forest is hidden. The elevated main body follows the contours of the mountain from the east to the west to ensure the continuity of surface runoff and reduce the damage to the mountain and vegetation. The multi-layer outdoor platforms also let the building to be hidden behind the trees.
As an extension of the indoor function, the outdoor platform creates a place to experience the forest and nature at different heights. This is an experience that is not easy for the disabled.
